A New Beginning

So, about a week ago I watched the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" by Joe Cross.  I don't know why I chose to watch it, because normally if I were to watch a documentary, it would be historical in nature.  I must say, this documentary has absolutely changed my perspective.  If you have Netflix streaming, I would highly suggest watching it (check out the links to the left if you like as well).

Anyway, what I pulled out of that documentary was that the quick and plentiful absorption of micronutrients (MICRO, nor macro- think antioxidants and vitamins) can not only flush you of excess waste and fat, but also help with certain health disorders.

About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.  It's kind of one of those "is it in my head or what" diseases that affects my nerves.  You can bump into me the wrong way and send me crumpling to the floor.  Although Mr. Cross does not cover this disease (I believe his was Uticaria or something) I am hoping to re-balance my system to maybe lessen my symptoms- All the while living an overall healthier lifestyle.

So, I am in the "week before" phase of beginning the juice fast, and I thought I would chronicle my journey here.  I have to wean myself off caffeine, start eating a little healthier, stop taking vitamins, etc.  My wonderful mom bought me a nice juicer for my husband and my joint birthdays.  I linked it to the left.  We got it from Amazon, but Omega has their own website with more information on the juicer HERE.  I will probably end up linking it to the left.

Today my husband and I are planning to be a little bad and getting us some fast food today before we kick off our juice fast.  I am hoping that the fasting will help me crave fruits and vegetables more often than my local greasy diner :)
